If In the past you enrolled in an ITIL® V2 Practitioner program, you need to know this.
Your ITIL® V2 Practitioner Certificate is a stepping stone to Service Management programs that offer higher pay and even more job security across the board. What’s next? Working towards your ITIL®® Expert Certification! This can be easily achieved by attaining the required credits in ITIL® V2 Practitioner Programs or move entirely into the ITIL® V3 pathway by choosing either the ITIL®® v3 Intermediate Lifecycle Stream or the ITIL®® v3 Intermediate Capability Stream programs, or a combination of them both, and all can be achieved through the fully EXIN-accredited ITIL®® v3 Intermediate eLearn programs offered by The Art of Service.
When I attended the EXIN Partner Meeting last week, I was advised that unofficially, all ITIL® V2 exams are going out of production, starting with the ITIL® V2 Foundation exams in June 2010. The ITIL® V2 Practitioner and Manager exams will be phased out between June and December 2010. The expectation is that an official press release will be forthcoming shortly advising of this.
Keeping this in mind, and unaware of what your eventual goal is, I was curious if you were ultimately completing the ITIL® v2 Practitioner path, with the mindset of following on with the v2-v3 Manager Bridge program, followed by the V3 Managing Across the Lifecycle program to gain your ITIL® Expert certification. This is an approved pathway via APMG to gain your ITIL® Expert status. Or do you want to mix your ITIL® V2 Practitioner Programs with a couple of ITIL® V3 Intermediate Modules to have a balanced approach towards your ITIL® Expert status?
