ITIL Intermediate Pathway to ITIL Expert – How to?

There is no right or wrong sequence to starting with any of the Intermediate modules, with the exception, that all must be completed (and exams passed) before you can take the “Managing Across the Life” program. All you need is a total of 22 points to qualify for the Expert certificate.
With your practical programming background I would choose the Capability modules because they are build around roles in the IT organisation. This will help you to get insight in the theory of ITIL® as well as the type of jobs that are needed within the framework.
The most visible client interaction happens in the phases of Service Strategy (Demand Management), Service Design (Service Level Management) and Service Operation (Service Desk).

In terms of looking at the ITIL® Expert pathway, as an example from a costing standpoint, to follow the Capability path, you would basically be looking at the following for the e-learn programs only:

Service Offerings & Agreements – USD$595

Release, Control & Validation- USD$595

Operational Support & Analysis – USD$595

Planning, Protection & Optimization — USD$595

Managing Across the Lifecycle – USD$595

TOTAL FOR E-LEARN: USD$2,975


Each exam costs USD $385 – so total for exams would be: USD$1,925
For exams, we can do one of two things:(a) Exam at an EXIN office
Upon successful completion of each program, you will receive a certificate of completion from us, and as all of our programs are EXIN accredited, the certificate will enable you to schedule your exams directly with EXIN, or another Training Provider that offers the v3 intermediate programs and exams. How you can be more successful by using these 4 simple steps (yes…also in ITIL…)

WOW – that’s all I can say at the moment. I just returned back into the office after attending a lunch function. The speaker was Jordan Belfort, and I must admit that until 1 month ago I had never heard of him. But I knew this presentation was coming up so I bought his books in preparation of this event.

The topic of his presentation was how to be a successful person in business and in life and not make the mistakes he made.

There are 4 basics that he identified as being the foundation of his successful business: The Knowledge that we can manage the state that we’re in, the understanding that we all have beliefs that throttle or improve our achievements, the strategy to be educated enough to know what we are supposed to be doing, and the level of standard that enables us to grow at all levels.

Why is this important to us in the IT Industry? Well, first of all I think it’s imporant for everybody to understand these concepts as they don’t just deal with the business side of a person but also influence your personal and family life.

Second of all, I think that many people in the IT industry can take these wise words and learn from them.

We are like all living creatures; we either grow or die. And I don’t know about you – but I’d much rather grow!

In this email are a number of growth opportunities for you: ways to manage your strategy on reaching your goals. eLearning is a great way to get ahead and absorb the knowledge that you need to make the right decisions in a very short time frame.

An example of one of the products that has changed significantly due to this process, is the ITIL® V3 Foundation Certification kit . Most readers loved the product and gave it 4 or 5 star reviews, but about 9 percent of the clients gave it a 3 star or below. We were not happy with this result and as a result we recreated the product into the 2009 version of the ITIL® V3 Foundation Complete Certification Kit.
