ITIL Overview in this case is a high level description of the library as depicted in the ITIL Model shown in the actual Library books.

The Business Perspective

The Business Perspective is aimed at providing business management with the underlying components and architecture design of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure necessary to support their business processes and gain an understanding of Service Management standards and better practice.

ICT Infrastructure Management

ICT Infrastructure Management covers all aspects of ICT infrastructure management from identification of business requirements through the tendering process, to the testing, installation, deployment and ongoing support and maintenance of the ICT components and IT services.

Service Support

The Operational ITIL processes covered in the Service Support book are Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management Configuration Management and the function of the Service Desk.

Service Delivery

The Tactical ITIL processes covered in the Service Delivery book are Service Level Management, Financial Management for IT services, Capacity Management, IT Service Continuity Management and Availability Management.

Planning to Implement Service Management

The Planning to Implement book focuses on key issues to be considered when planning the implementation of IT Service Management. The steps required to implement or improve IT service provision are explained, and guidance is provided on the alignment of business needs to IT, enabling an assessment of whether IT service provision is really meeting the needs of the business.

Application Management

The last piece of the ITIL framework deals with Application Management, which is the subject of this book. Application Management addresses the complex subject of managing applications from the initial business need, through the Application Management lifecycle, up to and including retirement.

Security Management

Covers all aspects on Organizational, Physical, Procedural and Technical security with a particular focus on Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability.
