I purchased this book in lieu of going to a boot camp style training class. The book provided me with all of the foundational knowledge I needed to pass the test. The online eLearning course that The Art of Service provides with the book gives adequate reinforcement of the concepts covered in the book to give readers a better understanding of the different Processes and Functions within ITIL® V3.My only recommendation for purchasers of this book is to make sure that you take as many practice tests as possible before taking the actual test. This was how I was able to assess if I truly knew the material before going in. I found the questions in the book to be really easy, but the questions in the eLearning unit were significantly more difficult. The practice test given at the end of the eLearning unit was most reflective of the kind of questions that were on the actual exam, but since there were only 40 questions, I wanted to to get a few more practice questions under my belt before going in to take the test.
