ITIL test results are
normally forwarded to the candidate within a prescribed timeframe,
depending on the actual exam that was taken.

Foundation
There are two types of
testing involved here so there are also differences from this. First
the paper based exam has roughly a four to six week turnaround time
for physical marking. The computer based exam gives instantaneous
results with delivery of the certificate taking an average of four
weeks.

Practitioner
This exam is currently
only available as paper based but there is discussion about it
becoming an online type exam as well. Currently allow four to six
week turnaround time for physical marking as
well.

Managers
Now here there is a
significant amount of time involved in marking these exams. Usually
eight to ten weeks. These exams are written exams with no single
correct answer to every question. It is far more an essay type exam
with basically a different essay written for every question. These
also go to multiple markers all of whom are qualified IT service
managers themselves. This makes it quite an intricate process. Hence
the long turn around time.
